A New Adventure

This week has been an exciting (and somewhat scary) adventure for me. I just released a Cozy Mystery that was unlike any Cozy that I’ve ever written before. While it was a Culinary Cozy, featuring delicious food, it was only marginally so. The book revolved around the dual adventure of a murder mystery, and the drama of one very courageous woman’s new start.

The book made me cry as I wrote it, for lots of reasons, and the reviews seem to indicate that it touches the hearts of less biased readers as well. I felt wrung out, but exhilarated, after writing it, and it’s my hope that it will bring you at least a few hours of entertainment.

Here are some snippets of what readers have to say about Patriot’s Passing, the debut novel in my Hawg Heaven series:

*If I could have given this book ten stars I would have. The pure human emotion in this story just reaches out and grabs you, not letting go until the end.

*So good that I couldn’t put it down! I started this book today around lunch time and just now finished at around 11 p.m. The writer created a wonderful story, poignant about a military Widow with a young son that needs to start her life over. The lead character is very likable, you can sympathize and feel along with her as she’s making these changes. Surrounded by wonderful supportive parents and slowly making new friends in a new town, she begins a small business. Along the way she meets good people, she’s definitely all about second chances and judging a person based on their worth, not on what others have to say about them. A great champion of underdogs. A murder mystery develops, and you’re left wondering who done it. I loved the cast of characters, and the bad guys are definitely people you love to hate. The sheriff reminds me of Boss Hogg from Dukes of Hazzard, it’s the mental picture I get in my head every time he shows up on a page. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. I definitely recommend this book for lovers of cozy Mysteries. Extremely well-written, great character development, and a wonderful group of supportive cast.

*This first in her latest series introduces one of her best main characters yet. I love the strength that Rossalyn possesses, even on the face of great adversity. Her husband sounds like a wonderful man and the memories of him make the book special. Many suspects even for a small town with a limited cast list and it was a true mystery until the end along with some OMG plot twists that I didn’t see coming.

  1. I have a question concerning the INN series … I don’t want to miss any of the books … I saw that Toffee Apple was listed as book #11 and then the next book I found released was Peppermint Mocha which was listed as book #13 … was there a book #12 and if so why is it not showing on Amazon?????
